Design, make and install a two person workstation that doubles as a reception desk.
The desk has been installed in a newly-built office and had to fit with the existing furnishings and styling by the client. It was designed so it could be disassembled and moved to another location if required. A magazine rack was incorporated in the client side of the return to save space in the small waiting area. Electrical and data cabling was to be fitted once the desk was installed, so a stud-wall style spine was incorporated to facilitate this and to keep all cabling off the floor. The panels under the desk level can be removed to access the cables.
The timber is recycled Oregon. The feature wall was painted in a matching stone-effect colour to define the reception zone in the open-plan layout.
